June 26th was a busy day. Traveling from Philly to NYC for the big day – the NY Med premiere! Given that I work nearly everyday either in the ICU or the ED, I always have to have my look planned out in advance.
By now, hopefully you tuned in to watch me on The Juice on the Veria Living Network (@verialiving) (or you saw the many NY Med premiere photos) so this isn’t a spoiler – yes, I’m almost 9 months pregnant! Pregnancy wear needs a little extra planning. Here’s how I planned out my outfits for the day:
Day – The Juice appearance:
asos Maternity Bardot dress ($47.64 on us.asos.com) – half sleeves and longer length for a more covered-up, daytime look
Dress was below the knee so I needed some height – my trusty leg lengthener – Christian Louboutin heels
Bella band: to keep things smooth under my dress
Super sensitive skin but needed good coverage for HDTV – it’s all about my Bare Minerals foundation (around $27 at amazon.com)
Eye shadow: I worked everyday until the premiere and was a tad tired. I really wanted my eyes to pop. My everyday shadow is a mix of 2 shadows from theBalm cosmetics (I LOVE this brand!) – Risque Renee and Just This Once Jamie (each around $16 from amazon.com)
Jergens Natural Glow gradual tanning moisturizer for my legs – needed them to look longer and cover up some of these pesky pregnancy veins (around $8 at amazon.com). @evachen212 EIC of @luckymagazine gave me the great advice to wear latex gloves when applying.
Won this gorgeous Lizzie Fortunato Jewels (http://www.lizziefortunato.com) necklace in a charity auction and had been saving it for a special occasion. June 26th was my special day!
Night – NY Med premiere:
H&M Mama Jersey dress ($29.95 at hm.com) – wild pattern and shorter length for a good night look yet still very comfortable. I had some hottie nurses to pose with and had to hold my own!
There’s a lot of standing at premieres so needed my most comfy, chunky heels – my alice + olivia for Payless gladiator heels.
A night eye means an intense eyebrow – I only trust my eyebrows to Lilibeth. I only have about 5 minutes for makeup in the morning and the Lilibeth brow kit makes eyebrows in 30 seconds possible. Precision Duo Brow Brush ($30) and Perfectly Natural Brush on Brow Pigment ($20) at lilibethbeautifulbrows.com do the trick (and I promise it’s easy).
Once all the makeup is off, I always use my trusty face oil – the most expensive thing in my medicine cabinet by far – but I only use 2 drops and it changes the entire texture of my skin. And never even a thought of a breakout of my super-sensitive skin (La Prairie Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Dry Oil, around $270 at amazon.com)
